Founder, Director, Chef and high school culinary arts teacher, Betty Ewing was just awarded with the CBS Jefferson Award, an honor for local heroes making huge impacts in the community. For over 20 years The El Cajon Project has been helping at-risk youth from the ages of 16 to 19 by bringing them into a culinary environment where they learn to better their skills and get a taste of what the culinary industry is all about.
